چکیده
The Working Group Uroradiology and Urogenital Diagnosis of the German Roentgen Society has developed uniform recommendations for the preparation and implementation of prostate MRI. In the first part detailed recommendations are given in tabular form regarding 1. anamnestic data before prostate MRI, 2. termination of examinations and preparation of examinations, 3. examination protocol and 4. MRI-guided in-bore biopsy. In the second part, the recommendations are discussed in detail and relevant background information is provided. Key Points: · Uniform recommendations for prostate MRI has been developed from the Working Group Uroradiology and Urogenital Diagnosis of the German Roentgen Society.. · Necessary anamnestic data, recommendations for termination of examinations and prepararion of examinations, examination protocol and MRI guided in-bore biopsy are detailed expressed and documented.. The Role of MRSI in Target Volume Definition for Radiation Therapy of Prostate Cancer
Introduction: Recently, magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), as a functional imaging method, has been used for clinical target volume definition. In this study, we used this method to define the target volume in prostate radiotherapy. Material and Method: In this study, we used images of 20 prostate cancer cases. MRSI and MRI images were fused with CT images. Then, treatment plannin...
متن کاملMedical imaging modalities: Prevention of unnecessary orders and non-optimized radiation exposure
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a constant magnetic field and radio waves, a non-invasive method for examining tissues, organs and the skeletal system. Advantages and disadvantages of MRI are not fully understood; however, it has been commonly used in the diagnosis of skeleton and bone diseases (such as disk and spinal disorders, joint disorders (arthritis), bone tumours and tissues...
متن کاملMETastasis Reporting and Data System for Prostate Cancer: Practical Guidelines for Acquisition, Interpretation, and Reporting of Whole-body Magnetic Resonance Imaging-based Evaluations of Multiorgan Involvement in Advanced Prostate Cancer☆
CONTEXT Comparative reviews of whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (CT; with different radiotracers) have shown that metastasis detection in advanced cancers is more accurate than with currently used CT and bone scans. However, the ability of WB-MRI and positron emission tomography/CT to assess therapeutic benefits has not been com...
متن کاملAutomatic Prostate Cancer Segmentation Using Kinetic Analysis in Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI
Background: Dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) provides functional information on the microcirculation in tissues by analyzing the enhancement kinetics which can be used as biomarkers for prostate lesions detection and characterization. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate spatiotemporal patterns of tumors by extracting semi-quantitative as well as w...
متن کاملEvaluation of the accuracy of dynamic contrast enhanced MRI in the diagnosis of invasive prostate neoplasm using pathological findings
Background: Prostate cancer is the most common malignancy in men and the second leading cause of death in all countries of the world. The exact mechanism of prostate cancer is not known. On the other hand, early detection of prostate cancer can lead to a complete cure. Several clinical experiments including Digital Rectum Examination (DRE), biochemistry such as Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), ...
